B1: Beyond the Basics: Tech Tools for the Google Guru | Session evaluation
Do you consider yourself fluent in the ‘Google Essentials’? Let’s dig a little deeper and explore a handful of the tools and projects that the Google Education team have been developing. Emphasis will be placed on using a variety of Google Tools to enhance and accelerate student research and learning across a variety of grade levels and content areas. Participants will be given plenty of time to explore the tools and discuss ways to integrate them into their instruction.

B2: Books of Note - 2016 | Session evaluation
The Tri-State YA Book Review Committee will present the Books of Note list for 2016. These titles have been evaluated as the best of the best of current materials. Highlighted titles will be presented orally with tips to help you promote books and reading, both fiction and non-fiction. We share our professional opinions with you as fellow professionals who are devoted to students and books. Our website is http://www.tristatereviews.org/BON.html. Discover the best technology tools that are enabling students to develop the skills and expertise needed to succeed in the 21st century. Uncover strategies to extend your reach with collaborations in your building to improve student learning. Featured tools include Google Classroom, Thinglink, Meograph and Storybird. Attendees will have an opportunity to share in their setting to extent their reach in collaboration with technology tools.

B4: Digital Storytelling (Creative Digital Literacy) for K-5 | Session evaluation
The 21st century student needs to communicate ideas with digital fluency. Combining this skill with the art of storytelling is central to the processes of reading and comprehension today. From Kindergarten through fifth grade, this session will empower educators to create and deliver rich learning experiences across content areas. The presentation will include a discussion of lesson design, tools, and delivery, finished examples of student work, as well as brainstorming sessions for your classroom.

This introductory session will engage participants in different phases of Inquiry-Based Learning and provide examples, lessons, and activities to use in the classroom or library. Inquiry-Based learning activities can engage and motivate students by creating opportunities for students to actively seek solutions, design investigations and ask new questions about content and issues. Extend yourself to connect, wonder, investigate, construct, express, and reflect on inquiry, and then reach others in your own educational setting.
